What other travelers are saying about Jimokuji Kannon
Spectacular Pagoda and gate.
Peaceful atmosphere.
Short walk distance from Meitetsu line train station.
Some good places to eat around is making it a nice place to visit and spend time
This temple is commonly known as Jimokuji Kannon. It was founded long ago, and its stately Nandaimon Gate and three-story pagoda are designated as important cultural properties by the national government.
I didn't know this until I came here, but the day I visited was the day of the "Kurashi no Asaichi" morning market, which is held on the 12th of every month. The temple grounds were filled with many shops, and the area around the temple and the parking lot inside the temple were also quite crowded.
In addition to accessories and other items, there were also stalls selling food like food trucks, and people could sit on benches in the temple grounds to eat.
It was lively, which was fine, but it was a bit strange to see so many shops lined up around the hall where people usually pray quietly.
There are many valuable wooden buildings. I visited here on a school trip or something when I was a child, but I didn't realize at the time how valuable the buildings were. I hope they will be preserved forever.
Unusually these days, they sell pigeon food and you can feed the pigeons on the grounds.
