The aquarium houses over 11,000 marine creatures from 800 species, including orcas, Pacific white-sided dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, beluga whales, sea lions, seals, penguins, sea turtles, rays, and sharks. It is one of the few aquariums in Japan with orcas.
Take the JR Sobu Line from Tokyo Station to Chiba Station, then transfer to the JR Sotobo Line to Awa-Kamogawa Station. Total travel time is approximately two hours. Free shuttle buses run from the station to the aquarium in about 10 minutes. By car, it takes roughly 90 minutes via the Tateyama Expressway.
Daily shows feature orcas at the Ocean Stadium, dolphins, beluga whales, and sea lions at the Rocky Stadium. Multiple performances run throughout the day on scheduled intervals that vary by season.
Touch pools allow interaction with rays and small sharks. Special programs include dolphin encounters and behind-the-scenes tours, which require advance reservations and additional fees. Feeding times are scheduled throughout the day at various exhibits.
A typical visit takes 4 to 6 hours to see all major exhibits and attend the main animal shows. Visitors who want to participate in special programs or see multiple show performances should allocate a full day.

This is so far the best SeaWorld I have ever been to. It is so well organized. I entered from the main gate and as I progressed inward, I managed to capture all the performances one by one. If you are not particular about securing the best seat for the performances, you can catch all the performances in quite a comfortable pace. The orca performance has way exceeded my expectations. And yes, do check the water mark on the floor; you will know what just happened. Don't even hesitate to purchase the raincoat as you will need it for sure 😂. Better take off your shoes and socks and roll up your pants if you are sitting in the front few rows. Not only the performance is the top, I also enjoyed the way how they design the facilities to enable better interaction with the sea animals and quite an engaging experience. I went there during the showa PH. Not crowded at all. As an adult, I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely visit it again.
All the mystery and majesty of the underwater world are made visible here through the amazing exhibits! From orcas to sea lions and giant crabs to jellyfish this place has everything! All the animal performances were stunning and, with the ocean right next to you it is a superb location. It is an experience that enlightens you to the world of the magnificent animals of the ocean!
Awesome place to take the kids for the day! The Dolphin and killer whale shows are great!! Beware, you will get wet in the first 6-7 rows at the whale show 🤣 beautiful ocean views and tons of parking.
What a wonderful killer whale show, i also watched the dolphin show but i absolutely loved the whale one.
Its so fun to watch and obseve walruses , sea lions , penguins and so many new varieties of fishes.
It is a 3 hr ride from tokyo, so I mean its upto you if u really like to watch something different than a zoo,
I recommend take the ride and Go see !
The staff is lovely and smiling.. well trained animals.
Lovely sea world by the sea. Absolutely nice views. There are many good animal shows throughout the day - the highlight of the aquarium. Worth visiting and kids enjoyed it. Just remember to buy the poncho or bring extra clothes if u have to sit at the front for the orca show - definitely will be wet for most who are seated.
