I stopped by on January 5th, drawn in by a rainbow.
This is a Tenmangu shrine located on the beach in the Kusugawa settlement,
and the people of Kusugawa call it "Tenjin-sama."
The dragon's expression in the water basin here is very cute and lovely!
The shrine building, which was damaged by a typhoon two years ago, has been beautifully restored. It was my first time visiting during the New Year period, and I was able to leisurely stroll through the simple, small grounds with no one around.
The amulets are also recommended, with their simple charm typical of Yakushima.
There is no parking lot, so it might be best to park your car at the fishing port and visit the shrine.

The shrine's origins lie in a villager who found a sacred object in the sea and brought it to the magistrate's office, where it was identified as the sacred object of Tenmangu Shrine and enshrined there.
Although it's a small shrine, it's well-maintained, likely due to the care of the local residents.
The view from the sea is magnificent.
The shimenawa (sacred rope) wrapped around the torii gate is unique.
Located within a village, the roads are narrow and there's no parking, so please be careful when visiting.

They have souvenirs in the style of votive tablets. Payment is made by putting money into an offering box. Perfect for amulets and souvenirs! Great atmosphere!

This shrine is located right by the sea. On a clear day, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the blue sky and sea. Although it's an unmanned shrine, it seems to be maintained by local residents and was very well cared for.
