Mahora Inahoyama, Chichibu

Mahora Inahoyama is a retreat field nature park located on Mount Inahoyama, a mountain standing at an elevation of 260 meters in Minano-machi, Chichibu-gun, Saitama Prefecture. The entire mountain has been transformed into a natural park where visitors can experience traditional Japanese satoyama mountain village culture. The location is situated in the Chichibu region, a mountainous area known for its pilgrimage temples and natural landscapes.

The park showcases 100,000 rose of Sharon (mukuge) flowers that bloom in summer, along with the rare Chichibu Red (fukujuso) flowers that emerge in early spring. The grounds include ancient burial mounds and archaeological sites that visitors can explore while walking through the mountain trails. At approximately 400 meters altitude, the site offers panoramic views across the Chichibu Basin and opportunities to witness morning sea of clouds when weather conditions align.

Visitors can engage in forest bathing, hiking to observation points, camping under star-filled skies, and exploring historical sites scattered throughout the property. The park features the Mahora Sato Cafe, an organic café serving brown rice vegetarian meals made with pesticide-free vegetables from local Chichibu farms and those grown on-site, with seasonally changing menus. The facility also includes art installations, an event hall, and accommodations including log houses for overnight stays.

The park is accessible via a 15-minute walk from Minano Station on the Chichibu Railway. The facility operates from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and is closed on Tuesdays (or the following day if Tuesday falls on a national holiday).
