Traveler reviews

After strolling around the Jindai Plum Festival, we visited looking for lunch, but were disappointed to find that they were closed for everything from meals to soft serve ice cream! It seems they don't open properly until April, so we just took in the scenery and headed home.

平日に妻と訪れて散歩しました。 コスモスはまだ咲き始めで少し早かったです。 お客さんはあんまりいませんでしたが、いい天気で秋を感じられました。 野良ネコも散歩していました。

Makiba no Mori FOOD & SHOP, located inside Makiba no Yakata, reopened on April 1st, and with it, a new buffet has been added! ✨️ A colleague at work told me about it! 🩷 I had no idea! ️We had to go!✨️So we both went for lunch after our night shift. It was our first time at Makiba no Yakata! ✨️ The spacious grounds are home to a shallow, man-made river, a water play area, an athletic field, a dog run, goats, and rabbits. Apparently, the lavender is beautiful in June and July. We were hungry, so we headed straight for lunch. lol This restaurant is located in a hexagonal building with a glass-walled facade and a wonderful view. Enjoy a carefully curated menu featuring local livestock and ingredients, as well as processed meats, dairy products, and homemade sweets! BBQ and takeout are also available. (From the website) The restaurant is bright, clean, and stylish, with a lovely atmosphere. There is both indoor and terrace seating. We went for the buffet, but they also offer a buffet and BBQ set course, with the BBQ served on the terrace. We headed straight to the buffet. There were plenty of vegetables on the table. There was also a section where you could grill your own sausages. The main dishes for the day seemed to be fried chicken, chicken ham, grilled chicken rolls, and steamed chicken in a bamboo steamer. The portions seemed small, but they also had bread, curry, fruit, and yogurt, so it seemed like we'd have no shortage. 🎶 The chicken dishes, salad, sausages, etc. were all placed on plates and brought to the table. Let's eat! ✨️ The chicken ham was soft and moist, which I loved. The grilled chicken rolls were also delicious, with basil inside. The steamed chicken was brought later. It had thick pieces of pork in it. 🩷 It was delicious. I wanted another one, lol. I wonder if we could have more? After we'd finished our meal, we had curry, bread, fruit, and yogurt. The curry was also delicious. The yogurt with large blueberries and honey was so delicious I had seconds! lol The buffet didn't have a huge selection, but I was more than satisfied. I was going to buy a jumbo cream puff on my way out, but I decided against it. I wish I had! I wanted the soft-serve ice cream, too! I'll definitely come again! ✨️ Thank you for the meal.
I found this place after searching for a dog run, and was surprised when I got there! To my surprise, it was a handmade run at the Okayama Prefectural Livestock Research Center (a public research station). To begin with, this is a research facility open to the public, including an experience center, lavender garden, and restaurant, which is something I would never have imagined, as I have experience working at a fisheries research station in the Tohoku region. I was amazed at how flexible Okayama Prefecture is in its ideas and ability to put things into practice. Admission to the facility is free, the run is free, and the restaurant is stylish... I don't want it to become too well-known and get crowded, but it's a hidden tourist spot that everyone will want to enjoy.
The park is spacious and you can see rabbits and goats. The cosmos were in bloom, so I was able to see them. I heard the lavender and other flowers are beautiful, so it's a good time to visit. The ice cream was big and delicious. Next time I go, I'd like to try lunch there too.
