Mother Farm (Mother Bokujo)

Mother Farm is a truly exceptional destination that offers the perfect escape into nature. Nestled in the rolling hills of Chiba, the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside—and even Mount Fuji on a clear day—are absolutely breathtaking. The farm is incredibly well-maintained and beautifully laid out. One of the absolute highlights is the interactive animal experiences. Getting up close with the incredibly fluffy sheep, gentle capybaras, and friendly alpacas is a joyful experience that puts a smile on everyone's face, regardless of age. The famous sheep shearing show and the duck parade are highly entertaining and showcase the wonderful care the staff provides to all the animals. Beyond the animals, the seasonal flower fields are stunningly beautiful, creating a vibrant canvas of colors that is a dream for photography. The farm also offers a fantastic variety of activities, from picking fresh, delicious fruits to engaging in hands-on crafting workshops. The culinary options on-site are a delight as well. You cannot leave without trying their signature soft-serve ice cream made from fresh farm milk—it is rich, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. For a more hearty meal, the Jingisukan (lamb BBQ) dynamic dining experience offers both great flavor and a wonderful atmosphere. With its clean facilities, incredibly warm and welcoming staff, and an endless array of things to see and do, Mother Farm delivers a top-tier pastoral experience. It is highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking to refresh their spirit in a gorgeous, countryside setting!

Lovely farm to visit over the weekend at short distance from Tokyo, we took a rental car. We also took the dx tour which was a lovely experience and got a chance to taste their in house honey, pet and feed the animals and just soak in the beauty away from the crowd. Even though the dx tour is in Japanese and we did not understand most of what the tour guide was describing, the buggy ride itself was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend it. It's a huge area with plenty for everyone. A small animal courtyard is available near entrance where you can see the animals. As you go farther inside there are separate enclosures for different animals. It's a lovely place to spend a beautiful spring day. Also, the nemophilias were in full bloom when we visited on 25 April 2026, it was a sight to behold! They also have a lovely store with merchandise and dairy items.

Road is dangerous (drive slowly!) and can be crowded, but it's a nice and large park. Fun and refreshing with animals and some attractions for kids. Beware, queues can get quite long (1 hour wait for a 2 minutes horse riding), long wait for food trucks too (get in line before 12 or go later..). But that's common too many parks. It's a nice place and I'm glad we got to spend a day there.

September 14th 2025 it was warm weather and since we were up in Mother Farm the breeze is cooler. We sweat a little bit during that day. We took our 11mo old baby, 5yo child and Father-in-law and his wife. The farm/park is beautiful. We didn’t get to the flower field because they cannot walk far. We only get to do the sweet potato harvest and watch the show that started at 1pm. Some of the animals like the sheep are in the barn with the pee and poop around them but it looks like soaking in pee and not too many hays. Some sheep you will see them outdoor. Our 5yo fed the horses. That was fun. We walk around and eat some of the food from the food truck. The restaurant has a long line. To get there was a little bit of a hassle because we drove and didn’t have ETC to pay for the toll. They dont have card or cash option. I enjoyed seeing the scenic route even though it took us 3hrs instead of 1hr and 20 mins. We didnt purchase the ride around the farm which i thought it would be helpful.

It's a farmaesque place without too many farm animals. They have exotic(from a different country) animals as an attraction to draw a crowd. But if you have kids, this is a great place to be. There are several activities to try and again most of them unfarm-like. There are very few food selections(vegetarians sorry) and they don't take cards(cash only!). Lol. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again. Once is enough.
