awesome trail to mt miyanoura. we took the 1st bus to yodogawa trailhead and started the hike around 10.30am, only reaching the summit around 3pm. there were several parts on the trail that will require going down/up using the ropes provided. after yodogawa hut, we didnt see any water points until shin-takatsuka hut.

Left home (south of yakushima) around 530am for yodogawa trail and started my hike at 640am. It took me 5 hours to reach the summit and another 5 hours back to the start point. The climate in November is pretty cold and there were snow (~3cm high?) nearing the summit. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed myself!
A summit above 1800m at one of the final high-points about as far as you can imagine. A place to celebrate your accomplishments, reflect on how you got here, and most importantly, decide where to go next. May many more conquer it.
The highest point on island Yakushima and also in Kyushu area. The trail is very natural but easily visible. While it takes durability and strength to take to the submit in 1 day, there is no danger involved. The rewards are the lovely animals such as deers and historical trees you can meet all along. And also the openness of the mountain range. Most amazingly, the phone reception is superb on the top despite you are some miles away from Civilization.
Amazing views of the island, clouds, and neighboring mountains. Totally worth the all day journey up and down.
