Omura Park

Omura Park

4.1 (200)・Park・Tourist Attraction・Point Of Interest・Establishment

Omura Park in Nagasaki Prefecture is a beautiful place with a rich history. It surrounds the ruins of Kushima Castle, which was once home to the Omura clan. The park is famous for its cherry blossoms, especially the rare Omura Zakura, a special type with many layers of petals. In spring, over 2,000 cherry trees bloom, making it a popular spot for hanami. The park also changes with the seasons, showing bright green leaves in summer, colorful trees in autumn, and a quiet, peaceful view in winter. Old castle walls and moats still remain, giving visitors a look into the past.

Besides history, Omura Park is a great place for walking and relaxing. There are paths, a pond, and open spaces to enjoy. Statues and signs tell the story of the Omura clan, and the Omura City Museum nearby has historical items on display. The park also hosts festivals, like cherry blossom events, that bring people together throughout the year. Whether visiting for history, nature, or a quiet break, Omura Park is a special place that many people love.

What other travelers are saying about Omura Park

A very pleasant scenic spot. The castle itself is long gone, but some of the ramparts remain. It's situated on a hill at the edge of the water - and would look great if not for all the scafolding and covers (presumably, renovations are in progress). Still, nice place to stroll around.

We visited on the 8th of June, and the Iris flowers are in full bloom. It's an amazing sight and really a great place to take beautiful photos. The castle and shrine are fun to explore with interesting features

Beautiful park, even in the heat of the summer. I wish I could have walked around a bit more but hunger drove me out. The pigeons and fish were also hungry...I felt guilty not having anything for them. 2023

Beautiful during cherry blossom season and perfect place for a walk and a picnic. They dont have a park for kids which is a bummer but plenty of room to run around. All can see the remains of omura castle
