What other travelers are saying about Saitama Prefectural Museum of History and Folklore
Visited with my 15 and 12 year old. We found it quite interesting. Some areas have English signage and information. Some places videos and photos are allowed, and others like beautiful sets of oyoroi are not allowed to be photographed, which was a bit of a shame. Overall, it was a clean, quiet, and beautiful place.
Very good place to know the history about Saitama Prefecture.
Very interesting seeing the history of the Kanto area. I had no idea how interesting it would be! There is one very fascinating item in the Yayoi era display that I wonder if it is what I think it is... Perhaps women had been having fun together for a long time.

You can also pay a nominal fee to try some hands on experiences such as making tie dye hankerchiefs or prayer plaques. They run a number of events including the chance to try on armor.
Small parking lot that is free. There is a restaurant that has a rest area where you can eat food you brought in. There is a nursery too. You can access Omiya park from the museum too.
Great interactive historical crafting and play experiences for the kids.
