Went there as an away fan. Good experience. Nice stadium, amazing environment next a river. Friendly ticket price.
Also, it’s rare to watch a 7 goals game, though it’s our team got battered. But we got battered wherever we go, hahaha be positive.
Also it’s good to see Daizen, Ito and Mitoma play in person!
Fist time visitor after more than 10 years of asking my wife. We live outside of Japan, and our son, aged 7 years, is getting into soccer, so we finally got to go.
It was raining heavily on the day, so getting to the stadium was frustrating. Being first-time visitors to the stadium, we weren't sure what to expect and had thought it was close to other facilities such as shops and cafes. The transportation to and from the stadium is very unlike Japan's usual amazing transport infrastructure. I hope the stadium organizers could work with the council more on that aspect.
Alas, my family and I had a great time and a very interesting match between FC Tokyo and the Urawa Reds.
The food available, the cleanliness, and the arrangement of the stadium are all great. If only there was more shelter from rain in the family-friendly area.
The energy and the heart of the soccer fans are amazing. The Urawa Reds supporters are truly inspiring, even more so the FC Tokyo fans won the most spirited of the day.
Urawa Reds came out on top 3:2 on the day after several goals were reviewed.
Staff at the stadium were great and very patient with my limited Japanese. (Aus vs Jap football match)
Stadium entry was well organised and signed.
Walk from the station is over a kilometre which may be a problem for some people.
If you aren’t willing to wait an hour in very crowded conditions to get a return train I recommend leaving early or having an alternative return option. Food available was awful. Deep fried chips had been chilled before serving and the chicken skewers were also cold/room temp. This is my third trip to Japan and this is the only bad food experience I have had.
