Shinjuku

LocalityPolitical

Shinjuku is one of the 23 special wards of Tokyo. It’s a major business and government center with the busiest train station in the world (Shinjuku Station) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which is the center of the government of Tokyo.

Shinjuku is often associated with its vibrant nightlife due to the presence of the red-light district Kabukicho and its shopping areas like Shinjuku San-chome and Nishi Shinjuku, which is known for its skyscrapers. The ward is home to several parks, including Shinjuku Gyoen, which is one of Tokyo's largest parks.

The city is full of culture, with many theaters, cinemas and museums. You can find many dining options from tiny yakitori stalls in Omoide Yokocho (also known as “Piss Alley”) to high end restaurants in the skyscrapers.

Whether you visit the peaceful Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden or experience the nightlife, Shinjuku will be an urban adventure you will never forget. The district is also famous for its shopping scene, offering everything from high-end boutiques to local markets.
