Suga Shrine ⛩️
東京四谷総鎮守 須賀神社
A little Shinto Shrine and beside it is the famous stairs from the movie Your Name (Kimi no Na wa 君の名は). It’s located in the cosy neighborhood of Yotsuya, Tokyo.
If you come here for the stairs, spend some time at the shrine. They have “Your Name” themed Ema (wooden plaques) here to write your wishes and other Shinto charms too.
I visited early in the morning to avoid the crowds and prayed at the shrine. It was really quiet and peaceful.
🚉🚶: 13 mins walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station (Marunochi Line)

Suga shrine was quite popular because of its steps. It is also hard to find without a map if you just stroll. But it is a nice place to escape Tokyo busy hours.

you can pay by card in the shop but it is closed between 12-13 o'clock.
Visiting Suga Shrine was a toss up between 3 and 4 stars for me. I found the shrine to be peaceful and serene. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the shrine and who it is dedicated to. I didn't however find the shrine that easy to get to and there wasn't too much else in the area to do other than visit it.
A stunning shrine. We only saw it as we were coming to see the your name stairs.
The shrine has capitalised on the stairs and sell multiple knick-knacks related to the stairs but they are quite nice so it doesn't matter.
