I would say this is a decent beach overall.
The water was clean and the designated swimming area is protected by barriers, which helps keep the waves calm and makes it a comfortable place to swim.
While I wouldn’t rank it among the very best beaches in Okinawa, it’s still a great option considering how close it is to the city.
The convenient location and the variety of nearby activities make it an easy and enjoyable place to visit.
If you’re looking for a relaxing beach without traveling too far, this is a solid choice and there’s lifeguard on duty as well.
Highly recommended to go during sunset! It’s beautiful and just near the park and the american village. With shower rooms nearby and beautiful beach
Nice beach with life guard. Two sun chairs and an umbrella cost 3,000 yen. Nearby are shower facilities and a big parking.
Sunset Beach is a convenient beach for families and casual visitors. The water is shallow, making it easy to relax, although the sandy bottom means the water isn’t very clear and you can’t see much underwater.
One of the biggest advantages is the location. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and shops within walking distance, so you can easily spend the whole day here without worrying about food or supplies.
If you’re staying at one of the nearby hotels, I highly recommend visiting. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the beach and watch a beautiful Okinawan sunset before walking back to your hotel.
Pretty mediocre beach. Tightly roaped off swimming area with nets down to the floor, so don't expect any fish spotting or underwater visibility at all. Closes early at 6pm so that's kind of a bummer as well. Flat water with no waves or excitement. Maybe good if you're the swimming pool type or just want your toes in the sand. Close to Kadena Air Base, it's nice to see who's flying through, so that's a unique positive.
