Takeshiba Ship Terminal is a passenger ferry terminal in Minato ward, Tokyo, serving as the main departure point for ferries to the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. The terminal consolidated island ferry services previously operating from scattered Tokyo waterfront locations. The modern facility provides centralized access to Tokyo's remote island territories, which rely on regular maritime connections for passenger transport and cargo. The terminal has been modernized to accommodate both overnight ferries and high-speed jet boats serving different island routes.

The terminal functions as the gateway to Tokyo's island territories, including the Izu Seven Islands (Oshima, Niijima, Hachijojima, and others) and the Ogasawara Islands (Chichijima and Hahajima), located approximately 1,000 kilometers south of Tokyo. The Ogasawara Islands are designated UNESCO World Heritage sites for their unique ecosystems and endemic species. The terminal enables access to these remote environments for tourists, researchers, and island residents. The facility operates as transportation infrastructure and an island tourism departure point, with ferry companies running overnight vessels and faster jet boats.

Visitors using the terminal board overnight ferries departing evenings and arriving at islands the following morning. The Ogasawara ferry runs approximately once weekly with 24-hour journey times, while Izu Island ferries operate more frequently with 6 to 10 hours for overnight services and 2 to 3 hours for high-speed jets to nearer islands. The terminal provides waiting areas with seating, vending machines, and basic amenities. Advance ticket purchase is required, with reservations recommended during peak seasons. The waterfront location offers Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge views.

Takeshiba Ship Terminal connects to the Yurikamome Line at Takeshiba Station, directly linked to the terminal building. JR Yamanote Line and JR Keihin-Tohoku Line serve Hamamatsucho Station, approximately 10 minutes walking. The Toei Oedo Line and Toei Asakusa Line reach Daimon Station, about 7 to 10 minutes on foot. The central Tokyo waterfront position provides access from major city areas. Ferry fares vary by destination, vessel type, and cabin class, ranging approximately 5,000 to 30,000 yen or more for Ogasawara routes.
