What other travelers are saying about Toei Kyoto Studio Park

So glad we went! We went to almost every tourist attraction in Kyoto and wasn’t sure if this park was worth a visit. So glad we went. Our kids loved the park and all the attractions. We also paid extra to rock climb. The female at the desk was cold and not friendly at all. Luckily our climbing instructor Yuta was kind and great with the kids!! He helped make the climbing experience so worth it.

If you are into old Japanese traditional life style, then worth paying a visit. Some attractions also for children: ninja, sword fight etc. I personally didn’t really enjoy it … but it’s about my taste. You pay the entry but inside for other activities you have to pay extra… so better get some information upfront. Overall it’s not a must … just nice to have (my opinion 😊). Enough parking options around.

Visiting Toei Studio Park was so surreal because you are able to visit a movie set where they shoot their films and shows. It's actually the most enjoyable part because you got to see how the set all look like and be amazed how they made this place and even bring it back. Unfortunately, from my experience, it's the only thing I noticed that they could offer except for the museum they have for Kamen Rider and souvenir shops. I expected that they offered limited merchandise from the park but only saw common ones which I can buy outside. They have a lot of ninja related products and Japanese souvenir treats if it is what you re looking for. All in all, it's a good place to visit of you have been a fan of Toei but lower your expectations to lessen dissappointment.

Nice place to spend half a day in. You can enjoy the place in 3 hours max, thinking if the price was worth it. It can be. I mainly went for the Evangelion Statue which was definitely the best part of the attraction. I highly recommend you get the card offered to you and take the photo in front of the statue professionally. It’s free, and you get the option to pay for the other pictures. It’s an experience. Apart from that, there’s the ninja show, a samurai show, and the Power Rangers Museum with the outfits and motorcycles in it. As for food, it’s okay. There’s a decent ramen shop inside the theme park. Oh, plus points is that there’s not a lot of people. Queues are short.
Only visit if you are a fan of ninjas and Evangelion, otherwise the ticket price are abit expensive. The park is designed like an old Japan era, with the buildings, costumes, and vibes. We went there on Saturday and there are alot of kids around. Since we are a big Eva fans, seeing the giant Eva was awesome, you get to take picture with it, and then enter the Eva and try the pilot experience. They also have a little merch and food shop with Evangelion theme. We also got to see the ninja theatre performance, which was unexpectedly great. Even though the dialogue are only in japanese, the actors did a great job with acting and acrobat skills, we enjoyed it immensely. There are some small entertainment around the park and you can try playing some old japanese games like kendama and beigoma for free. They also provide rental costume to vibe more with the park if you wish to do so.
