What other travelers are saying about Tonbori River Cruise, Osaka

Decent experience although the weather wasn’t cooperative when I went, rainy, windy and cold. The rails were quite high for safety reasons so didn’t get an immersive feeling of floating among the lights at night like I expected. Not a long ride at 20 minutes.
Was good value with the Osaka Amazing Pass so I can’t complain much. Give yourself some time before the ride and come early to be able to pick the riding time in case it gets sold out.
The best time for a Dotonbori River Cruise is during evening hours (6-9 PM) when the neon signs and illuminated billboards create stunning reflections on the water. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer pleasant weather, while winter illuminations make December cruises particularly magical.

Cool river cruise. Not very long but it's all you need. Used Osaka amazing pass, booked our tickets at the reception in the morning to be sure we had the 5pm slot. The boat was full when we got on. I would recommend going at night time because it looks very nice with all the signs and screens illuminated. The staff was very nice and funny.
I redeemed this with the Klook Osaka Amazing Pass. The staff was kind enough to let me know I had to redeem the ticket with the ticket office and there was barely any wait. When we got on, the boat tour member was very friendly and explained the rules of no standing, no umbrellas, and more.
She played the trumpet, made the experience informative and engaging, and the overall experience lasted 20-25 minutes.
This is a nice experience to have while visiting Osaka. It is best to do this river cruise at night time to get the full experience. The last boat leaves at 9 pm and each journey last approximately 20 minutes. It costs 2,000 yen per person to do this trip. It is a little expensive for what you experience but as a once off it is worth it. Generally they sell out very quickly if you book online but you can also join the que and jump on last minute if there is space. It is best to sit either side or front of the boat not the middle.
It was 2 mins walk from Gyumon Halal Ramen and the ride was fun as I thought was a quick 10mins but ended like almost half and hour with entertainment by someone who speaks Japanese with little English :). Overall it was an enjoyable time.
