What other travelers are saying about Toyama Glass Art Museum
The Toyama Glass Art Museum is a stunning masterpiece with intricate wooden architecture, housing a world-class permanent collection of glass art by master artist Dale Chihuly and other renowned glass artists from around the globe. Conveniently located near Toyama Station, our hotel even provided complimentary tram tickets, making it a breeze to get there. Admission to the museum was incredibly affordable, at just 200 yen per person. A truly unforgettable experience, I highly recommend it!
Worth a visit id you are staying around toyama station. You can explore the place without paying any money if you are trying to be thrifty. The exhibits cost money starting from top floor and working your way down. Otherwise, its a unique and well used library as I saw students and seniors using it to read or study. You can spend as little as 30m here or, if you pay for the exhibit, 1-2hrs here depending on if you read the glass piece descriptions the exhibit. Do beware that theres a mix of photos allowed, flash allowed, or sns posting allowed or not.
Maybe the low rating on Google maps is because it's also a local library, but this museum awas an absolute gem. The 200yen entrance fee is practically nothing, especially as it includes the seasonal art nouveau exhibit.
Sadly I didn't have time for the special exhibition on Japanese glass art.
This museum is fun to visit, it also have a library inside. The whole building has a lot of natural lighting, making photos look amazing at many angles. The use of wood and glass makes the overall design minimalist and clean. The glass installation is so colorful and looks mesmerizing. There's also special exhibitions from time to time. I made my own glass bead bracelet at the gift store, wish I could buy some of those beautiful glass deco. the staffs are super friendly.
