What other travelers are saying about Uheyama Rice Terraces
Seeing the rice terraces in the mountains of Tajima gave us a glimpse of the ingenuity of the people who have built this area's long history.
There are many other rice terraces besides these, so it would be fun to visit each one of them.
There are also valleys, waterfalls, and various observation decks in the area, so you can fully enjoy Tajima's nature.
The snow-covered rice terraces of Ueyama can be seen from the side of the road, which has been narrowed due to snow removal. Cars can be parked in the widened area.
The road is a little narrow and goes through the mountains, but it's more than wide enough for one lane, so as long as you drive safely there's no problem!
I wanted to see the scenery reflected in the water's surface, but it seemed it was still too early when I visited.
The ridges had been neatly mowed and it was clear that the area was carefully maintained.
Please enjoy the scenery without getting in the way of the people working!
Thank you.
The Ueyama rice terraces are surrounded by mountains. When water enters the rice fields, the mountains and sky are reflected in the beautiful scenery.
These terraces are smaller than those in Betsumiya.
Also, because they are surrounded by mountains, you might see hawks flying nearby. On this day, the sky was cloudy and the water was still entering the fields. It would be nice to visit after Golden Week.
The parking lot is just a pull-up and can accommodate about three cars.
Please note that there are no restrooms. The road is also only one lane. Please drive carefully.
In mid-July, if you have time, you can see the rice terraces here, and then go along the road to Yoshitaki waterfall.
It was all green for a moment, but after that, the surrounding grass was carefully weeded one by one, like a razor.
Whether it's better to have a clear outline of the rice field or to have a blanket of green like this depends on the person who worked carefully.
A beautiful village
Thank you very much
