Unicorn Gundam Statue

I visited the breathtaking Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza with my family and parents in February 2025. It was an unforgettable experience for all generations. The absolute highlight of our visit was the nice lighting effect show in the evening. Watching the massive figure transform and illuminate against the night sky was incredibly spectacular and captivating. My parents were deeply impressed by the advanced engineering, and the kids were completely thrilled by the dynamic performance. The viewing area is spacious, comfortable, and very easy to navigate, making it a perfectly accessible spot for elderly family members and children alike. It is a fantastic, budget-friendly attraction that offers great photo opportunities. Do not miss the night transformation schedule if you are visiting !

I visited back in 2024 and it was one of the highlights of my short visit to Tokyo. I'm a fan of Gundam so getting to see a life-size statue of the Unicorn with my own eyes was such an amazing experience. At the time I visited the transformation wasn't working properly so only the lights were functional, but given how complex the transformation for the Unicorn Gundam is, I'm impressed they managed to make it work under Earth's gravity. Unfortunately it's set to be taken down a couple months after I post this review, but given that it's stood for almost a decade and been loved by so many people, I think it had a good run.

The glowing psycho-frame lights combined with music and visual effects create a very cinematic atmosphere. 🛍️ Since it is located directly in front of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, visitors can also enjoy shopping, restaurants, cafés, and the famous Gundam Base Tokyo nearby, making it a perfect destination for both anime fans and casual tourists. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The area itself feels spacious, clean, and family-friendly. Got to finally take this off from my childhood bucket list of things to do during this visit! What made it even more memorable personally was that I was able to share it with my Toddler who I introduced to Gundam that same day. Seeing his reaction after walking out from the food court is priceless! Now to try and see the other 2 remaining statues. 😅

A little bit out of the way but it does have a life size gundam! Nothing of note here with a large shopping complex although externally the area looks a little bit tired but very clean. The monorail servicing the area is very good with excellent views. Only go if you have a few hours to kill.
