Ever since the original RX-78-2 statue was placed in Diver City in 2009, it was a dream to make a trip to see it. I never got to, but knew that I had to see the RX-0 Unicorn with my own eyes one day, and when I finally did, it didn’t disappoint! I remember speed walking through the mall towards the food court to make my way there with my brother, and seeing the lower leg through the windows of it outside. I gasped audibly at the sight of that, my mind bending at its scale in comparison to my PG model kit at home. I was in awe at it, the detail, accuracy, and immense scale. Anyone who has a deep connection to the franchise needs to experience this. Videos and photos will never give it justice, and when paired with the projection shows, the whole experience becomes emotional.
Standing at an impressive 19.7 meters (64.6 feet), the life-sized RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue dominates the Festival Plaza at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba. This full-scale replica from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn was unveiled in 2017, replacing the previous RX-78-2 Gundam statue. Crafted with meticulous detail, it captures the essence of the iconic mobile suit, making it a must-see for fans and visitors alike.
🕒 Daily Transformation Shows
The Unicorn Gundam transitions between its “Unicorn Mode” and “Destroy Mode” four times daily at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. During these transformations, various panels open to reveal the glowing psycho-frame beneath, and the Gundam’s head changes to expose its face, accompanied by sound effects and lighting.

🚆 Getting There
The statue is easily accessible via public transportation:
• Yurikamome Line: Daiba Station
• Rinkai Line: Tokyo Teleport Station
Both stations are approximately a 5-minute walk from DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.

Part of the Odaiba area complex that includes many various attractions. A must visit when in Tokyo especially best during sunset so you can view the Rainbow bridge light up along Tokyo Bay. Other attractions are the Fuji TV HQ and the small Statues of Liberty replica next to Aqua City.
It's cool. Worth a visit especially if you're into Gundam. There's a store nearby with all sorts of Gundam items. I would imagine it looks a lot nicer at night but it might also be busier and harder to get a decent picture. On a weekday afternoon there were enough people around to have it a bit busy but clear enough to get a decent picture. It's close to the statue of liberty and the Dover city mall which are both nice.
Great attention to detail! Awesome attraction to take photos with especially being that you can get really close. It’s simple but pleasing. The surrounding park is clean with amazing water front views of rainbow bridge and Statue of Liberty. Another Gem was seeing the beautifully designed Fuji Television building while walking to the Unicorn Gundam.
