Very quiet and beautiful! They are busy preparing for the Uwajima Festival so you could see the outline for the "floats". They also have a beautiful painting of a snake for the year of the 🐍. You can also see the old paintings for the year of the 🐉 and the year of the 🐇.
The most famous shrine in Uwajima city.
The solemn shrine was built to console the soul of Sebe Yanbe, who reconstructed the impoverished local finance but met a violent end in the 17th century.
The huge gate emblematic of Shinto shrine is made of stone and is one of the biggest of its kind.
I must visit place in Uwajima City if you're a tourist and first time in Japan. It's considered a holy place. The atmosphere is solemn and the Nature feels like heaven.
A peaceful and photogenic shrine. I visited around 5pm on a weekday in Autumn and luckily the office was still open :) They were happy to sign my goshuinchō. The goshuinchō design they had was so cute that I couldn't resist and bought one. They have very cute omamori too.
