What other travelers are saying about Yoggo Valley
One of our favourite places in Yakushima. We went there twice. Few people around. It was a really nice place to soak in the sun (July), sounds of the mountain river, the cool breeze. Just breathing in the peace and tranquility.
Be careful though, the rocks in the river are slippery. And while it was a short trek to get from the parking lot to the river, we were battling insects for most of the way. Suggest parking at the closest available car park.
Absolutely stunning place with not too many visitors. I wish we spent more time there just soaking in the sheer beauty and tranquility there. I took a dip in those emerald green waters, cool and healing. The ferns and trees, while not Shiratani Unsui Gorge, I am grateful that it wasn't either. Picnic there (make sure to clean it up afterwards), take a nap, take a dip, and enjoy!
Brilliant easy stop off for a cooling off swim in stunning surroundings. Well worth a visit before or after lunch at the lovely udon noodle restaurant on the road up to the gorge.
