Traveler reviews
Watching a live baseball match at Yokohama Stadium was one of the most memorable experiences of my Japan trip.
What impressed me the most was not only the game itself, but the incredible spirit and discipline of the fans. From the moment we started our journey to the stadium, the excitement was already everywhere. People walked happily in their team colours, carrying the energy of game day through the streets of Yokohama.
The atmosphere inside the stadium was absolutely electric.
Music, cheering fans, coordinated chants, and endless excitement all around. We proudly wore our orange Giants jerseys while the home supporters filled the stadium in blue for the BayStars. Orange and blue everywhere, thousands of emotions, and one unforgettable atmosphere.
Japanese baseball fans truly amazed me. Their support was passionate yet respectful and organised. Every chant had rhythm, every cheer had purpose, and the energy never felt chaotic. It was wonderful to witness such beautiful sports culture.
The stadium is also very well maintained and thoughtfully designed with accessibility features such as elevators, wheelchair seating, accessible restrooms, and family-friendly facilities, making the experience comfortable for visitors of different needs.
Yokohama Stadium is very easy to access. It is only a short walk from Kannai Station on the JR Keihin-Tohoku/Negishi Line and Yokohama Municipal Subway Line. You can also reach it easily from Nihon-odori Station on the Minatomirai Line. Several local buses also stop nearby, making transportation very convenient for visitors and tourists.
As we left the stadium, the cheers still echoed in our hearts.
Some matches are watched.
Some matches are felt.
And Yokohama…
this one was truly felt.
Yokohama Stadium offers a lively baseball experience in the heart of the city. Home to the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, the atmosphere is energetic with passionate fans, food stalls, and great views from most seats. Even outside game days, the area feels vibrant, making it a fun stop for sports lovers and visitors alike. ⚾🏟️✨
First Japanese Baseball Experience 🇯🇵⚾️🔥
Random Friday night. No plans.
Then I get a message from my boy Matt y’all remember Matt, right? We used to work together back in the day (2016–2018) at the Staff Academy on Camp Pendleton. He hits me up like:
“Baseball?”
Me: “Say less. Let’s do it.”
So boom, we pull up to Yokohama Stadium for my first-ever Japanese baseball game and let me tell you… Japan loves baseball the way America loves football. This wasn’t just a game it was an experience.
Before the game, I did a little homework on the Yokohama BayStars — turns out they were Japan Series Champions last year… and I had no idea 😳
Then I come to find out Andre Jackson is on their squad now yep, that Andre Jackson. Drafted by the Dodgers in 2021, bounced around MLB, and now holding it down in NPB. Full circle moment seeing him pitch live after following his story from afar.
The vibe in the stadium? Electric.
Family-friendly, food everywhere, coordinated chants, beer girls moving like clockwork and that energy doesn’t stop.
We dipped around the bottom of the 7th, thinking we were beating the crowd back to the coast of course, like all true fans know, all the fireworks popped off right after we left 😂
Turns out Tyler Austin knocked another dinger back-to-back nights with a home run and the BayStars won again.
All I know is…
I’m definitely coming back.
It’s close to the house, it’s clean, it’s fun, and it’s a vibe for the whole fam.

🇯🇵 Japanese Baseball Culture = unmatched
Atmosphere was amazing! Japanese baseball is way different than American baseball. I don’t think I can watch baseball back home
Opening day of NPB season 2026 and our first ever baseball game. The fans are amazing and we had a great time learning the songs in the cheering outfield section.
