There are several parking around the park it might confuse you which one to actually place your car. The park was spacious. Quite fun for children to run around. Food is limited enough for a family day.. apparently to be old but still hot a lot of things to offer. How do you recommend For families with small children.
HUGE property. There is a forest with Japanese garden elements, a large green house, fountains, immaculately manicured gardens, an observation tower, and a zoo. As of July 2026, the entrance fee for everything was only 500 yen.
There is a slightly separate garden at the "top" of the mountain. Free shuttle rides available to and from that garden. So many hidden gems and surprises.
Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a very nice and spacious zoo, perfect for families and children. The area is clean and well organized, making it easy to walk around and enjoy the visit. There are many kinds of animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, and more. The botanical garden is also beautiful and peaceful, great for relaxing and taking photos. It is one of the best places to visit in Nagoya for a fun and enjoyable day
Nice zoo with animals such as lions, koalas, giraffes and more! However, there are some enclosures where the animals are unavailable, such as the orangutans and sumatran tigers.
Still a good place to visit and spend time with family and friends, strolling in the zoo while enjoying the sights.
¥500 entrance fee per adult. ¥800 per carparking. Suitable for a nice day out. Although many cages were either empty or animals hiding, it was a good walk in the park. A monorail for kids to enjoy.
