Traveler reviews

Lovely! No one was there around 17.00 and we still caught sun. The path leads through a beautiful part of the forest (with some moscitos). And the gorge itself is wonderful and the water super clear. We loved to climb further back through the rocks amd discover further parts. There are toilets at the parking lot. PS: The road sign states "Yoggo" instead of Yokko.

One of our favourite places in Yakushima. We went there twice. Few people around. It was a really nice place to soak in the sun (July), sounds of the mountain river, the cool breeze. Just breathing in the peace and tranquility. Be careful though, the rocks in the river are slippery. And while it was a short trek to get from the parking lot to the river, we were battling insects for most of the way. Suggest parking at the closest available car park.

Absolutely stunning place with not too many visitors. I wish we spent more time there just soaking in the sheer beauty and tranquility there. I took a dip in those emerald green waters, cool and healing. The ferns and trees, while not Shiratani Unsui Gorge, I am grateful that it wasn't either. Picnic there (make sure to clean it up afterwards), take a nap, take a dip, and enjoy!

Easy access to this beautiful river, can be used for a little refreshing dip in the water. It is quite popular so you can expect a few tourists.
