Craft Your Unique Japanese Crystal; Edo Kiriko Glass Workshop

• The workshop is open to individuals and groups, with a maximum of 40 participants across 3 rooms (up to 12 people per room).

• Suitable for ages 9 and up; children aged 6–8 may join with adult assistance.

• Participants must be able to communicate in Japanese, English, or Mandarin Chinese.

• Colored glass is available for an extra fee, which must be paid in cash on the day.

• Please bring a hair tie and eyeglasses if needed for close-up work.

• Shoes must be removed before entering the workshop space.

• The venue is on the second floor and accessed by stairs only; there are no handrails or elevator.

• E-voucher must be shown at check-in; it will be emailed after booking.

• A wide selection of patterns is available, all beginner-friendly—photo samples can be viewed in advance.

• Guests should arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Workshop Agenda

Arrival & Check-In

Please arrive at the venue at least 5 minutes before your scheduled session. Check in at the glass shop located on the first floor. Friendly staff will greet you and explain the course process briefly.

Course Introduction & Glass Selection

• Duration: 10–15 minutes

Once you're checked in, you’ll choose one of six types of clear glasses for your workshop. Colored glasses are also available for an extra fee (cash only). You’ll also browse design samples and select your preferred cutting pattern.

Workshop Options

Choose from three carefully designed course types to suit your interest and time:

1. Standard Workshop Course

• Duration: 90 minutes

This is the recommended option for first-time participants. It offers a hands-on experience where you’ll learn the basic Kiriko cutting technique and create your own original glass.

2. Extended Workshop Course

• Duration: 120 minutes

Ideal for those who want to take their time and explore traditional patterns in greater detail. This relaxed session allows for extra practice and more intricate designs.

3. Lecture + Workshop Course

• Duration: 120 minutes (approx.)

This course includes a short talk on the global and historical background of glass-cutting, followed by the hands-on workshop. Learn about the roots of Edo Kiriko while making your own creation, tailored to your curiosity.

Glass Cutting Experience

Using traditional tools and techniques, carve your selected pattern into the glass under expert guidance. No prior experience is necessary, and instructors will support you throughout the process to ensure a safe and enjoyable time.

Wrap-Up & Payment (If Needed)

After completing your glass, if you selected a colored option, make your additional payment in cash. Your handmade piece is ready to take home—a beautiful and personal souvenir of Japanese craftsmanship.
