Workshop Agenda

‍A Glimpse Behind the Scenes. 10 minutes

  • Our journey begins with a brief introduction to the fascinating world of Kintsugi. We'll take a stroll around the factory, unveiling the magical transformation of broken pottery into gilded masterpieces.

Artistry in Action 10 minutes

  • Now that you've seen where the magic happens, watch as Taku Nakano himself demonstrates the unique Kintsugi method he developed. Witness as the seemingly ruined turns into refined, highlighting the beauty in imperfection.

A Touch of Gold. 40 minutes

  • Now it's your turn to step into the artist's shoes. Guided by expert hands, you'll learn to trace the delicate lines of breakage and paint them with a dazzling sweep of gold. Even as a beginner, you'll be creating thin, elegant lines of Kintsugi in no time.

A Clean Finish. 5 minutes.

  • After this immersive experience, we'll gather for a communal clean-up, reflecting on the beauty we've created and the lessons learned.

‍In this engaging workshop, we introduce a unique Kintsugi technique pioneered by Taku Nakano. Instead of the traditional brush painting and gold sprinkling, Nakano's method involves refining thin lines to match the original cracks and then gilding them with gold. This innovative approach allows even novices to create fine, beautiful Kintsugi pieces in minimal time. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish!
