Taima-dera was constructed in 612 by Imperial Prince Maroko, brother of the legendary Prince Shotoku, while all the burgs in the surrounding area served as Japan's capital one after the other. The major object of adoration is Yakushi, the healing Buddha, but the main attraction is the Taima Mandala, which depicts the Pure Land's splendor.
We had already walked down Taimadera. It stayed traditional while becoming more modern. It is located between Taima-der and the Kehayaza sumo museum. You deserve souvenirs!
Sumo, or Japanese wrestling, is widely regarded as a part of Japanese culture, yet few people are familiar with it. Sumo is born in Nara, Katsuragi City, Taima district. Visiting Katsuragi provides an opportunity to learn more about this sport at the Kehayaza Sumo Museum.
Chujodo Honpo: Comfort comes after effort. On our way back from Sumo, we can rest and have some wonderful chujo mochi, red bean paste over rice paste, the local specialty, in Chujodo Honpo. Before embarking on new experiences, stop by a really delicious pastry shop on this typical Japanese street in front of the station.
