Who plans the day, me or the host?

Both of you. The questionnaire steers City Unscripted toward a host with similar interests, who then gets in touch personally with a proposed plan and settles where and when you meet.

What if I change my mind partway through the day?

That is fine. Plans stay loose while you are out, so dropping a stop, adding one, or slowing the pace is always possible.

Is lunch part of the tour?

No. Meals and drinks come out of your own pocket, but eating can be a big part of the plan if you ask, and your host can choose places that suit your tastes.

Is the Landmark Tower observation deck or the Cup Noodles Museum included?

No. You pay for any attraction tickets yourself, as well as transport costs, and gratuities are optional.

Think of the itinerary stops as ideas; your host may propose different ones.
Expect plenty of walking, with trains or taxis suggested for longer hops.
Pack a travel card or a small amount of cash for transport fares.
Good walking shoes and a small, light bag make the long day easier.
Hosts lead this day in English; ask us if you need a different language.
Kids up to age 12 are booked as children, and 13 and up as adults.
A single booking covers no more than 8 people.

Best welcome to Japan!

Kenji was a terrific guide for our arrival in Japan. He helped us to get acquainted with the train system and showed us the highlights of Kamakura and Enoshima. We really enjoyed spending the day with Kenji!

Great tour with Hiroshi!

Hiroshi is an excellent guide and we truly enjoyed our tour with him. He even introduced us to the typical Japanese comfort food, Oyakodon which we love! We walked all over Yokohama and after the time we spent with Hiroshi, we really got to know Yokohama well. Hiroshi was very kind and went out of his way to help us find the foot pads we needed for Vilma so we are forever grateful for his help and kindness. We highly recommended this tour and Hiroshi to anyone who comes to Yokohama.
