Learn shodo calligraphy in a private Hiroshima studio near Peace Memorial Park, writing your name or a favorite word in kanji with a Hiroshima-made brush. Decorate a souvenir with your calligraphy and take home your artwork plus custom stickers.

Guests must be at least 6 years old; younger children may accompany free of charge.
Each session is fully private, with one group at a time.
The studio is on the 4th floor of a building without an elevator.
The studio is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
Infants must sit on an adult’s lap.
Pets cannot join the experience.
Infant seats are not available.
The studio is close to public transportation.

A delightful experience

We had a great time learning some of the secrets of Japanese caligraphy. Chihiro is a wonderful host, and she knows how to share her knowledge with beginners like ourselves. Time flew by as we focused on our paint brushes while having a fun and interesting conversation about our respective countries, hobbies, or preferred foods.

Calic Experiment with Japan

You were kind to inform me and did the correction well! It was nice to learn about Japanese font culture and history. It was nice to be able to write it calmly. Finally, writing and decorating was a Japanese feeling and it was even better!! Recommended!
