The experience includes a traditional tea ceremony led by a tea master and a Japanese calligraphy lesson. Participants will also prepare their own matcha tea and create a calligraphy souvenir.

Will I make my own matcha tea?

Yes. After watching the tea master demonstrate the ceremony, you will prepare and whisk your own bowl of matcha.

What is the Ryurei-style tea ceremony?

Ryurei style is a tea ceremony conducted using tables and chairs instead of sitting on the floor, making the experience more comfortable for guests.

What will I create during the calligraphy lesson?

You will practice writing characters with a brush and ink and write your chosen character or your name in Japanese on a traditional Miyajima rice scoop (shamoji) to take home.
