Arrival and Opening Tea

Meet at the Ocharu Tea Ceremony Room, located near Tokyo University, and be welcomed into a quiet and traditional setting. The experience begins with a light introduction to Japanese tea culture, followed by a cup of Japanese black tea from Shizuoka served with a tea cake. This first tasting helps set a relaxed tone for the ceremony.

Gyokuro Sencha Preparation

Watch as an experienced tea master carefully prepares Gyokuro sencha, known for its deep flavor and smooth finish. After the demonstration, enjoy the tea yourself along with seasonal Japanese sweets crafted by a long-established confectioner. This pairing highlights the balance of taste and presentation in Japanese tea culture.

Matcha Experience

Learn the traditional method of making matcha with hands-on guidance from the tea master. Using classic utensils, you whisk your own matcha and enjoy it fresh, gaining a deeper appreciation for the techniques passed down through generations.

Genmaicha Tasting Session

Relax with a final cup of genmaicha, a comforting blend of green tea and roasted rice from Niigata Prefecture. This warm and gentle tea provides a calming conclusion to your tea journey.

Closing and Memories

Conclude the experience by receiving a certificate of participation and joining a group photo. Afterward, you may choose to explore the nearby Tokyo University area for additional photos.
