The attraction opened as a destination for fans to immerse themselves in the world of the long-running series, which began serialization in 1994 and has been broadcast as an anime since 1996.

The shopping street holds cultural significance as a tribute to one of Japan's most successful manga exports, beloved in 25 countries and regions worldwide. It brings the fictional Beika Shopping Street from the series to life, recreating iconic locations that fans recognize from the story. The development represents Hokuei Town's pride in its native son and serves as both a tourist attraction and a celebration of Japanese pop culture's global reach.

Visitors can explore four main establishments within the complex. Café Poirot recreates the café from the series and serves signature dishes including ketchup-based spaghetti and Amuro Toru's ham sandwich. Conan's Kitchen operates as a self-service restaurant where each drink order comes with a Detective Conan-themed coaster, and Conan Gelato offers gelato made with local Tottori ingredients. The Conan Department Store stocks exclusive merchandise not available at the nearby Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory, including character pins with the Beika Shopping Street logo, T-shirts, and other themed goods.

The site features several photo opportunities, including statues of main characters Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri at the entrance, plus a replica of Shinichi's house gate complete with the family nameplate. The complex sits alongside the Yura River, which becomes especially scenic during spring when cherry blossoms line the riverbanks.

The complex sits approximately 10 minutes on foot from both JR Yura Station (also known as Conan Station) and the Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory. JR Yura Station can be reached in 10 minutes by train from JR Kurayoshi Station, or approximately one hour from either JR Tottori Station or JR Yonago Station. Parking is available for those arriving by car.
