Okutsu Onsen foot bath is a public bathing facility in the Okutsu hot spring area of Kagamino Town, Okayama Prefecture. Okutsu Onsen has over 1,200 years of history, with legend crediting its discovery to a monk who found the healing waters in the mountains. The hot spring area developed as a therapeutic destination in a secluded valley along the Yoshii River, attracting visitors seeking relief through mineral-rich waters.

The hot spring water is alkaline simple thermal water, known for smooth texture and reported benefits for skin conditions, muscle fatigue, and relaxation. The foot bath allows soaking feet and lower legs in naturally heated spring water while clothed, following the Japanese ashiyu (foot bath) tradition common in hot spring towns. The location along the Yoshii River in a forested mountain valley provides a natural setting enhancing the relaxation experience. Okutsu Onsen's reputation as one of Okayama's notable hot spring areas adds to the foot bath's appeal as an accessible introduction to regional bathing culture.

Visitors sit on benches alongside the foot bath basin and immerse feet in warm spring water maintained at comfortable temperatures. The open-air design allows enjoying surrounding scenery while soaking. Visitors should bring towels, as they are not provided, though nearby shops may sell them. Sessions typically last 15 to 30 minutes for relaxation and warming effects. The facility is positioned along Okutsu Onsen's main street, convenient for exploring traditional inns, shops, and riverside paths. The no-fee, casual nature makes it suitable for brief stops during regional travel.

Okutsu Onsen is in Kagamino Town, northern Okayama Prefecture, approximately 50 minutes by car from JR Tsuyama Station via Route 179. Limited public bus service from Tsuyama Station takes approximately 60 to 75 minutes. Rental cars provide flexible access to the mountainous region. Tsuyama is accessible from Okayama City via the JR Tsuyama Line in approximately 70 minutes by limited express.
