Begin your experience by arriving at the ADEX Base 15 minutes before departure. Here, your guide will help check your clothing, gear, and ensure all safety preparations are complete before setting off. After preparation, a complimentary shuttle will take you to the starting point of the hike. This scenic drive offers your first glimpse of the landscapes surrounding Mt. Usu.

Your hike starts through quiet forest paths that gradually lead upward. Along the way, you’ll see evidence of past volcanic activity before reaching a striking viewpoint overlooking the outer rim of Mt. Usu. At the viewpoint, take time to enjoy your meal while taking in the expansive scenery. After the break, the route takes you back down the mountain along the same trail. The descent provides a relaxed pace with opportunities to enjoy the forest from a new perspective.

From the carpark, the journey back includes a scenic drive through Sobetsu and Orofure Pass, giving you one last look at Hokkaido’s rugged landscapes before returning to ADEX Base.
