🏖️Oasis 21 is a modern place, located adjacent to Broadcast Tower in Sakae, Nagoya. It was opened to the public in 2002, housing restaurants, stores, and a bus terminal, as well as an area for tourist information.
🏝️The roof is a large oval glass structure that floats above ground level. It is filled with water to create an interesting visual effect and to cool down the temperature of the shopping area and the public space for various events known as "Milky Way Square" below in the summer.
A very uniquely designed shopping centre. Only a single level but it host a ghibli and Harry potter and a gashapon store. Visit during dawn or evening for the night views, u can even climb onto the transparent roof( with water) for an interesting experience. For an even better view , go to level 10 of the arts building next door. But the reflective windows makes it difficult for any photography
We stopped by for dinner during our overnight layover in Nagoya. One of the top attractions here was this plaza. It was pretty at night and felt very safe (as in the rest of Japan). Most stores and a lot of the restaurants were closed by 9 p.m.
Its an interesting architecture in like a lot of website describe it looks like an UFO.
There is a water fountain pool on the top.
It's really interesting area to check out with many shops and good restaurants.
Oasis 21 is a beautifully designed public space in the heart of Nagoya that’s definitely worth a visit. The futuristic “Spaceship-Aqua” structure is eye-catching and offers a peaceful rooftop area with great views of the city. It’s especially lovely in the evening when the lights reflect off the water, creating a calm and scenic atmosphere.
While the shopping and dining options inside are somewhat limited compared to larger malls, the overall experience is still enjoyable. It’s a great place to take a break, snap some photos, or simply enjoy the modern architecture.
If you're visiting Nagoya, Oasis 21 is a spot you shouldn't miss. It may not take long to explore, but it adds a nice touch to your trip and is conveniently located near other attractions.
