What other travelers are saying about Awaji Hanasajiki Park
I believe that this place will be more beautiful and amazing on seasons other than winter. But little did I expect to be mesmerised by the flowers when I visited in December.
Occupying a huge space on a hill, parking is only 300 Yen per entry and from there one can spend as much time as he/she wants to take photos, to take a stroll or to enjoy the flowers.
We spent about 2 hours here just to camwhore and enjoy the scenery - and lastly enjoyed ice cream before leaving this spot.
Please come if you like taking photo.
The park offers 200 parking spaces with electronic payment machines, designated walking paths through the flower fields, and a direct sales shop selling local souvenirs and products. The elevated location at 250 meters above sea level provides panoramic viewing opportunities of the Akashi Strait and Osaka Bay, making it ideal for photography and sightseeing.
The best time to visit Awaji Hanasajiki Park depends on the flowers you want to see. Spring (March-May) offers rapeseed flowers and poppies, summer (June-August) features sunflowers and salvia, while autumn (September-November) showcases cosmos and marigolds. Each season provides stunning flower displays across the park's hillside location.
To reach Awaji Hanasajiki Park from Osaka or Kobe, take a bus or drive across the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to Awaji Island. From Sannomiya Station in Kobe, take the direct bus to Higashiura Bus Terminal, then transfer to a local bus to Hanasajiki Park. By car, take the Kansai Airport Expressway to Awaji IC, then follow local roads for about 10 minutes to the park.
Awaji Hanasajiki Park features seasonal flower displays year-round including rapeseed flowers and tulips in spring, sunflowers and cleome in summer, cosmos and salvia in autumn, and pansies and stock flowers in winter. The park's 15-hectare hillside garden offers panoramic views of Osaka Bay along with over 250 varieties of flowers planted across different themed areas.
Yes, Awaji Hanasajiki Park has several facilities including a restaurant serving local Awaji Island specialties like Awaji beef and onions, a gift shop selling local products and flower-themed souvenirs, clean restrooms, and parking areas. The park also features rest areas with benches throughout the flower fields and a greenhouse complex with tropical plants and seasonal displays.
It’s a must visit spot in Awaji Island. It’s so beautiful that is indescribable. The place is easily accessible and since there’s a good point nearby, so you can easily take children with you too. The views are exquisite and you will be charmed by the gorgeous flowers
Just once piece of advice, carry scarves/ mufflers because being on a height, it’s windy and might trouble little children.
After a quick stop at the Aikashi-Kaikyo Bridge, we decided to visit this flower park. The park was well-maintained and wonderfully peaceful. The flowers were beautiful. We spent an hour in the park. Parking was cheap (200 yen) and the restrooms were very clean. The park itself wasn't expensive, but the bridge toll made it a short and expensive visit (2,410 yen times 2).
The view here is beautiful, with flower fields spread across a hill overlooking the sea and the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge in the distance.
It is not a full sea of blooms and not large in scale, but it has its own charm.
I visited in late July and literally melted walking under the scorching sun, even with an umbrella.
Parking costs 200 yen, and admission is free.
There is also a restaurant and a souvenir shop selling Awaji produce and local specialties.
If you are thinking of whether to visit this place in winter, just do it! The flowers and scenery are simply breathtaking. While some parts haven’t fully bloomed, the areas with flowers in full bloom are incredibly pretty and make the landscape shine.
