It gets fun when the waters get rough just before sunset, with the waves crashing into the rocks and riding the wind inland. Beautiful spot for a sunset. Maybe we just got lucky when we went, but it was very hard to peel away once the sun began dipping, looking at the slow progression of color from natural blues and yellows to a fiery red to a soft, pastel purple, to really bold oranges and dark violets, with the lighthouse silhouetted against the horizon.
This was my 2nd visit and my thought about this place has completely changed. You need to walk further where you can see the whole cape with lighthouse. The view was stunning and beautiful. I liked that you can also see a little bit of Zanpa Beach from here. I highly recommend this place to check out.
A really beautiful view. The sunset is apparently stunning, but also really crowded with tourists, according to my fellow traveler who was there for the sun down while three different wedding photo shoots were taking place at the same time.
Very nice and scenic view. I would be careful if you plan to take pictures on the edge, I my phone and I almost fell over so I would recommend you take Extreme causation while taking pictures. Other than that I would 100% recommend this spot for your next trip to Okinawa. (Also a lot of the rocks are sharp to watch out for that too!)
It was a very windy and cloudy Monday afternoon, the waves hit hard on the coastal rocks and you can get wet even at a distance away from the coast. Watching the harsh waves and the whooshing sounds was somehow a therapeutic experience for me. To climb up to the top of the lighthouse cost 300yen if I don't remember wrongly, it was good exercise and the 360° views up there were amazing. The wind was so strong and I couldn't stand steadily without holding on to the rails. Overall, it was a beautiful time spent, enjoying the views and photography.
