What other travelers are saying about Cup Noodles Museum Osaka Ikeda
Our teenage kids (13 and 14) both had fun decorating their noodles! We are cup noodles people and this experience was enjoyable for us as a family. No need for reservations. Just go in and register and pay for the cup you will be decorating (500yen per cup). For the noodle making though, it needs advance reservations and at this time (Oct 30), the next available slots are December already!
Place is not that big so we finished in an hour. It was quite organized and instructions are also written. There were staff too to guide you for the next step. After decorating, you’ll line up to choose your ingredients and soup base.
There were not many people though there was a school kindergarten students who were having their trip hete which was so cute.
There is also a room where you can sit and watch a video. Unfortunately, the video is in japanese so we couldnt quite understand. After the noodle making, there is an exhibit outside which also do not have english. There is however an audio guide you can listen to when you scan the qr code.
Noodles has expiration date of 1 month.
What a unique experience of decorating your own cup noodles. I am sure the kids would love doing it.
Growing up in a culture where instant noodles were a household staple, a visit to the Osaka Cup Noodles Museum was a must for me.
From Osaka-Umeda Station, it's an approximate 30-minute train trip to Ikeda Station. From Ikeda, it's a short walk to the museum.
Entry to the museum is free, and the exhibitions provide an extensive overview of Momofuku Ando (the inventor of instant noodles), the origins of the beloved Chicken Ramen and Cup Noodles, as well as the astronomical impact this convenient food has around the world.
For those after an even more interactive experience, there are additional workshops such as 'My Cup Noodles Factory' and 'Chicken Ramen Factory' on offer. These workshops require payment, and the latter also requires reservation in advance.
Highly recommend the Nissin Cup Noodles Museum for a slower paced activity in Osaka!
The Nissin Noodle Museum in Osaka is an essential destination. It offers an insightful journey into the origins and global evolution of Cup Noodles, providing a truly enlightening experience. Admission is complimentary; however, participation in the noodle factory activity, which includes a customizable cup noodle to take home as a souvenir, is available for 500 yen.
A cute place for a laid back visit. Total trip and visitation takes up to 2-3 hours from Osaka. We visited November 12th on a weekday.
We had brunch and then left for the museum around noon. Upon arrival, you’re ushered directly in because the assembly line keeps moving.
There is the an exhibit for chicken ramen something but advance reservation is needed so we opted for the “free” museum visitation but you need to pay $500yen to get a cup and do the cup experience.
As we approached the building, a large group of students were lined up at the front (~100 of them), we ended up walking in behind them. Wasn’t a problem.
There is free audio guide via a website but you’ll need headphones as the one room gets loud.
We watched a short history informative video and then were inside the assembly area (only in Japanese but it’s animated so easily comprehensible).
Decorate the cup, walk it up to the counter for condiments and flavorings, seal it, bubble wrap it and take it home. They said the cup is good for 30days. I guess that’s the freshest you’ll ever have it so enjoy!
This was such a cool experience! If you love ramen you won’t want to miss out on coming to do this fun and easy activity! It’s only 500 yen for each cup and you can get up to 3 per person. You decorate them yourself and then fill out what you want inside of them!
Yes! At the My Cup Noodles Factory, visitors can create their own personalized Cup Noodles by choosing from a selection of soups, toppings, and designing the packaging. This interactive experience is one of the most popular attractions at the museum.
The museum has free entry; however, there are additional fees for certain experiences like the My Cup Noodles Factory (300 yen) and the Chicken Ramen Factory (500 yen). These activities may require prior reservations.
Yes! The museum has a gift shop where you can purchase various Nissin products, including limited-edition instant noodles, snacks, and souvenirs. Some items are exclusive to the museum.
The easiest way to reach the museum is by taking the Hankyu Takarazuka Line from Umeda Station to Ikeda Station. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes. From Ikeda Station, it’s a short five-minute walk to the museum.
