Wonderful house made built by Lord Hotte in the late XIX century. The entrance cost is 320¥ for adults and 170¥ for students. By that same price you can ask a guide to come along with you explaining very interesting history and details about the house. And yes, at least one of the guides speaks English fluently and she was so nice and enthusiastic. Definitely a recommended visit even if you don't speak Japanese!
I can only imagine what life was like during feudal Japan. Seeing historical sites like this one is a worthwhile experience. The local birdlife is very relaxing and matches the scenery of the area.
This place is amazingly beautiful. If you have the chance, give yourself an few hours to just enjoy the beautiful building and all of the vas time, love, and craftsmanship that went into it's construction and restoration.
Wonderful, just like in the movies! Rarely do we get to see an intact mansion inhabited by one of the last lords. No wonder it appears on TV series and movies.
