What other travelers are saying about Fuji Safari Park
Arrived at 9:30AM on weekday and we are the second car waiting outside. The zoo opens at 10:00AM. After buying entrance ticket, we went to buy jungle bus ticket and got 10:30AM trip. It took around 50 minutes for the bus. It was great. You can feed lion, camel, bear. Our kids (and us) enjoy the trip very much. Other animals are just ok, not too many to see. Total spending at zoo 16400yen for 2 adults and 2 children.
We left the zoo at 13:30 and heading to the outlet for lunch and shopping.

Fantastic chance to experience the animals close up. We arrived at 10am and jungle bus were already sold out for morning slots and only managed to get 1230pm bus. As we drove, so we could do our own driving within the safari zone first before taking the jungle bus ride. Jungle bus experience was great as we could feed the bears, lions, camels close up. Animals strutted freely in their own zones. Zebras and elks roamed freely, crossing the driving path. Highly recommended to reach the park as soon as it opens at 9am in order to get the morning jungle bus slots. If you have kid older than preschool, you could take their extreme jungle bus 😆
We enjoyed the visit so much! The 45-minute jungle bus ride was a highlight—we got to feed bears, lions, and camels while spotting many animals roaming freely around the park. After that, we explored other areas on foot to see even more animals up close.
Our favourite parts were definitely the animal feeding experiences. Be sure to prepare plenty of ¥100 coins, as each feeding requires them. If needed, you can approach any ranger to help change notes into ¥100 coins, which was very convenient.
The only downside was that the navigation system in the car was available only in Japanese. Other than that, it was a fantastic 3-hr experience overall. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!
Fuji Park is a beautiful and serene destination that offers a perfect escape into nature. The park is impeccably maintained, with lush greenery, walking trails, and picturesque spots that make it ideal for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day out. The views of the surrounding landscapes, especially on clear days, are breathtaking and perfect for photography. It’s a peaceful place to unwind, enjoy fresh air, and connect with nature. The facilities are clean and well-organized, and the atmosphere is family-friendly, making it a must-visit when in Japan.
Great experience being able to drive your own vehicle in to be upclose with the animals. Note that guided tours on their safari bus runs out pretty quickly if you are not driving.
Saw an elephant that was sick and isolated though, hope the safari is able to take care of that one
