Words cannot describe how incredibly beautiful this place is! We enjoyed our visit here so much, and seeing the endless ocean of pink flowers rolling over the hills brought pure joy to our hearts. The breathtaking scenery made us so happy, and being surrounded by such natural beauty made us feel deeply relaxed and at peace. The park is open until 5 PM, and the entry fee is 700 yen for adults and 300 yen for kids. It is a magical, massive park filled with sweet fragrances and lovely walking paths. We highly recommend taking the sightseeing car ride—it was 500 yen for us and 200 yen for my son, and it saved us from the steep walk while giving us unforgettable panoramic views of the vibrant landscape. This place truly healed our souls and left us with memories we will cherish forever. Highly recommended!
We arrived around 4ish in the afternoon on a Sunday. There were people walking around the park, but it’s not as many as people as I thought there would be. We bought a one way ticket of the tour bus so we can get to the top faster. The view driving up was magnificent. We even took video during the tour of the flower beds. Highly recommend to visit during May. And I recommend staying 1-2 hours taking picture around the park.
I visited Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park with my family last year, and it was truly an amazing experience. It is easily one of the most beautiful places we have seen in Hokkaido. During the blooming season, the entire hillside is covered with vibrant pink moss phlox (shibazakura), creating a breathtaking carpet of flowers that stretches across the landscape.
Walking through the park felt almost surreal. The views from the higher parts of the hill are spectacular, and you can really appreciate how vast the flower fields are. There are also walking paths that allow visitors to explore the area at a relaxed pace while taking photos and enjoying the scenery.
What makes the experience even better is the peaceful atmosphere and the well-maintained grounds. It’s a wonderful place for families, couples, and photographers who want to enjoy one of Hokkaido’s most famous spring flower displays.
If you are visiting Hokkaido in spring, this park is definitely a must-see destination. The beauty of the pink shibazakura fields is unforgettable and easily one of the highlights of our trip. 🌸
Visited on 14 May, fields were filled with moss phlox! Entry fee of 700 yen per adult required and we feel its all worth it given that there aren't much of other flowers to view for this particular month. Not too crowded so photo and video taking was easy!
Shibazakura in Hokkaido blooms in May, so the festival runs throughout the whole month, with mid-May being the peak (the photos were taken on the 9th, before the peak). Entrance fee is 700yen, with plenty of free parking spaces. A few food stalls are also present.
