Visited here to figure how where to start trekking. Rented bear spray for ¥1,500. We covered Mt Mokoto and Mt Hakuto. Exhausting but the astonishing views made it worthwhile
Nice place to learn about Hokkaido, birds, bears (how to handle a bear rule number one: don't encounter the bear ;-) Also, of course, the cute algea balls. Also getting a good impression how gorgeous the landscape will look like in summer and winter - without the rain.
Arguably one of the best visitor’s centres I’ve been to in Hokkaido. Wonderfully informative and well-presented with staff who are eager to chat.
The surrounding area is also beautiful, especially in autumn, and they have a café upstairs with a balcony overlooking the forest behind the building.
They have very nice🐻 replica with a cub 😀
Educational and informational area with a small cafe on the 2nd floor. Nicely put together
