The Himeji Rose Garden stands as a unique testament to personal devotion and botanical passion. Created by its director as a homegrown rose garden for their loved ones, this intimate attraction offers visitors a more personal experience than typical commercial gardens. Located in Toyotomi, Toyotomi-cho in Himeji City, the garden represents a labor of love that has grown into a cherished local destination.

The garden's significance lies in its impressive botanical diversity and seasonal beauty. Housing approximately 800 species and 3,500 individual rose plants, the collection includes old roses, heritage mother roses, and modern varieties that create a comprehensive showcase of rose cultivation. The seasonal displays transform the landscape twice yearly, with spring blooms creating a sea of roses filled with colors and fragrances, while autumn roses offer colors that have all the enchantment of an elegant lady.

Visitors can explore the garden's winding paths and themed sections while experiencing the full sensory impact of the rose displays. The on-site garden café enhances the experience with a rose-themed menu featuring sherbet, sweets made with rose petals, and specialty teas. The gift shop stocks rose-related merchandise and seasonal Christmas decorations, while serious enthusiasts can join the garden membership program for pruning workshops, seasonal calendars, and complimentary autumn roses.

The garden operates seasonally with spring season running from early May to mid-June and autumn season from mid-October to mid-November. Spring admission costs 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for elementary school students, while autumn admission is 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for elementary school students.

The garden is accessible by a 15-minute walk from Nibuno Station on the JR Bantan Line, while bus travelers can take Shinki Bus to the "Sukainokuchi" bus stop. Drivers can reach the garden in approximately 7 minutes from the Toyotomi Ramp on the Bantan Renraku Road, with free parking available. The garden includes modern amenities including restrooms, WiFi, coin lockers, and accepts credit cards.

Amazing variety of roses that I had never seen before. Some of them smelled incredible, like perfume. It is family, elderly, and handicap friendly. There are small tables and seats all around to sit and relax to enjoy the roses. I would love to come back again. The dessert is also delicious!

If you wanna see some god damn beautiful roses then this is the damn place to be. The location of the rose garden is kinda weird because it’s literally beside manufacturing factories but the place is beautiful. Lots of variations of roses and other flowers are in this place. Perfect for photo sessions or just a relaxing tea session in their garden. Make sure to try their drinks and sweets, it was excellent.

It seems the roses bloomed earlier than usual this year, and upon entry, we were told we could still enter if that was alright, but since we had come all this way, we paid the 700 yen per adult entrance fee. 🌹 While there were certainly far fewer roses than usual, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves at the cafe. We received a free autumn admission ticket, so we'd like to visit again in the fall. 🍂

You can enjoy various kinds of roses. It's also fun to eat meals and ice cream, and buy souvenirs. On the other hand, the pathways are narrow. Wheelchairs and strollers have limited access. Also, the parking area is gravel, making it difficult to push a cart. The parking lot is large, and I've never had trouble finding a parking spot on a weekday. Dogs are allowed (free of charge).
