What other travelers are saying about Yumenoi, Himeji

Having to make a reservation for dinner and not being able to purchase dinner ticket at the reception is quite inconvenient. The fact that you have be forced to go outside to the restaurants near by which are far away from the hotel ruined my whole experience.

We had a fantastic stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area that needs some time to relax! The staff were wonderful and friendly, and spoke good English to us (since we lack any Japanese language skills) which we really appreciated. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Food was amazing - they went above and beyond by catering for my vegetarian diet. Although, I would recommend vegetarians to give them a heads up as I felt bad telling them last minute. The onsen baths were super relaxing and quite spacious.

Exceptional stay. They provided a muti-course meal to my vegetarian partner despite not being on the menu. We felt very comfortable and welcome. Baths are nice and spacious. The private bath was very good too! English communication is possible too 🙏

Visited here for my honeymoon and they're the reason we're visiting Japan again. Out of all of the things we did this place is the thing we cherish the most. The rooms, service, and views are absolutely incredible. Definitely try the Japanese style rooms with the cedar bath. You'll get a little porch area with your own personal hot springs bathtub that way. I barely speak any Japanese and they took great care of me. Dinner was authentic and not for the faint of heart Westerner but tbh it was pretty damn good. There's only two ways to improve this experience. 1. the journey to the shinkansen station by Himeji to the train station by yumenoi to the yumenoi bus. I wish that was more clear on their website. You can go to himeji and take a bus that passes by yumenoi but you can also use the free yumenoi bus that stops by a smaller, regular train station in that town. 2. This place is on a big ol mountain and they have a service entrance one one side and the main entrance around the corner. I wish they had a DO NOT ENTER sign cause my fat ass walked up that mountain on the wrong side our first visit! To be fair, the correct entrance has the yumenoi sign but Google takes you to the service entrance. Yumenoi staff, thank you for all that you do and the incredible experience you provide. My wife and I will be back soon!

Stayed one night. Clean, a little outdated. Comfortable. Far from the city, from the train station. Romantic hideout. Food okay but service good
