What other travelers are saying about Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park
It’s really nice zoo, it wasn’t crowded on the weekday in October. I really liked it. Drawback was I get that they close the bird exhibit because of concerned about the spread of flu, but the entire western animal exhibit which is like half the animals was off-limits and it was closed so really kind of put a damper on things. On the plus side you were able to at least be able to see like the the tiger and the lion but everything else off-limits.
But on the other negative said they also got the trail closed off so you can’t see the zebras or the giraffes either. So it’s like a lot of the big draws. You really just can’t see any of which is really disappointing. I mean it’s not like I can’t see zebras or draft back national zoo in DC but still…
That said despite it’s really out of a way location the cost of emission is a really good value. And a lot of the animals are very easy to see. You don’t have too much glass obstructing views or fading views. It’s a pretty open zoo. Overall, I would definitely recommend it and come back here.
Highly recommend. Wide parking lot(come earlier than the opening time so you can park near the entrance), lots of animals, cheap tickets. There's a picnic area so you can bring your own food.
Lovely place! Unfortunately, when I went, the red panda route was closed off (because of a bear?? Haha) but it was a lovely experience and all the animals looked lovely!
Diverse zoo.
lots of food and drinks scattered around.
Some enclosures are fantastic size giving lots of room for the animals, except a couple for example the Tiger.
Cheap entry with a long walk around the big zoo.
Nice restaurants inside the zoo too.
Has lockers for 100-200¥
Not too far to travel, nice cheap parking and tickets. (Lots of parking) Friendly staff, easy to navigate map. Interesting Animals, small enough to enjoy in one day, big enough to feel well exercised by the end of the day. A well thought out zoo. My only suggestion would be to bring your own lunch as the food in the restaurant was not very nice for the price.
The zoo is committed to being accessible to all guests, including those with mobility issues. Wheelchair rental services are available, and most pathways and facilities are designed to be wheelchair friendly.
