What a hidden gem! It’s super cheap and a great activity for a rainy day with the family in Hiroshima. It’s a bit dated but has soooo many models to look at. If you speak Japanese you could take hours reading everything.
My husband and I took our three kids aged 7, 9 and 11 to the Hiroshima City Transportation Museum yesterday. It was an absolute gem! The interactive exhibits were so engaging, especially the ones where we could get hands-on experience with old-fashioned rickshaws and historic buses. We even got to try out a recreated tramcar from the 1920s which the kids absolutely loved. The kids also enjoyed watching the old footage showing how transport used to be in Hiroshima. Our youngest's eyes widened when she saw her first train model! It's a great place for families and we'd definitely come back to explore more. We had a fantastic time there! Highly recommended! We left feeling super energized and inspired. The museum is well organised and has ample space for parking and amenities for kids. One minor drawback – some parts of the museum were quite crowded during peak hours. Still, we couldn't fault it! Overall, it's a must-visit spot in Hiro
Its okay. Large museum but few exhibits. On the plus side it is cheap and lots of space for kids to run around. However not many interactive exhibits for kids, lots of models behind glass. Kids did enjoy riding bicycles outside. Pay at the vending machine near the information desk. Guides in both japanese and english. If your in the area stop by, people are nice.
Small transportation museum.
Cheep craft place with friendly and kind volunteer people.
¥510 for an adult and free for children up until junior high school. The models are impressive. Good to combine with the zoo as well.
Tons of fun especially for little boys. I have two preschoolers. Interesting bikes outside. And if you enjoy cars and engineering, you’ll enjoy it as an adult too.
