What other travelers are saying about Hiroshima Yume Plaza
I loved this place as they had a wide range of prepared products along with household products. I bought an assorted variety of Japanese snacks that are of good quality. All reasonably priced to give friends as souvenirs.
Service: 5/5 friendly and helpful staff here.
They’re located right in the shopping centre.
Located on the pedestrian street, this souvenir shop knows exactly how to catch the attention of tourists. 🤔
However, all the products I wanted to buy were more expensive than the same ones sold at "Youme supermarket ゆめマート サンモール", which is located in the same street, at Sunmall, 300 meters away. 😍
Hiroshima Local Products Plaza is a great place to discover products from Hiroshima and the surrounding nearby areas.
Here you can find local honey sourced from the Miyajima and other local bee farms as well as local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cooking ingredients, jams, snacks, spreads and more.
This Shopping Plaza has a very local vibe, but there is an information center at the back with a variety of travel guides, maps and information for international travelers as well.
Free samples of different seasonal items are at the front of the shop to entice people to come in and shop.
Have a look for the special seasonal items such as the ornate dolls on display for Girls day (in March) on display from the end of January.
There is very little English in terms of labeling, but the staff are eager to help and the atmosphere is very welcoming.
Unfortunately most products are in plastic packaging and single-use plastic bags are in use, but they are happy for you to use your own bag if you have one. There are also many products in glass or metal containers which can more easily be recycled or reused in Japan.
Best place to by traditional snacks, honey, and other related Hiroshima food. one of the great places to test and buy Hiroshima’s traditional omiyage.
Operating hours vary by store and facility within the complex. Shopping areas typically open around 10:00 AM, while restaurants may have extended hours. The cinema operates according to its screening schedule. Check individual store hours upon arrival.
English-speaking staff availability is limited. Most stores and restaurants operate primarily in Japanese. The cinema offers English subtitles for select international films, but most screenings are in Japanese.
The plaza serves both tourists and locals. Tourists can use it for shopping, dining, or as a break from sightseeing. Its location near central Hiroshima makes it accessible for travelers seeking modern amenities.
ATMs are typically available at shopping complexes in Japan, though currency exchange services may be limited. For guaranteed currency exchange, use services at JR Hiroshima Station or major banks before visiting.
The complex offers diverse dining options including a food court and multiple restaurants serving traditional Japanese cuisine, local Hiroshima specialties like okonomiyaki, and international dishes. The variety ranges from casual fast food to sit-down restaurant experiences, catering to different tastes and budgets.
