I first visited this station around mid-April 2026. It's famous for its flowering peach trees, but it seemed I was a little late this time. Even so, it was still beautiful despite being past its peak. The station itself is quite charming as an unmanned station on a local line. While it lacks facilities like toilets and vending machines, it boasts a magnificent station building, giving it a surprisingly dignified presence for a local station. I later learned that it was once the terminal station of the Etsumi-Hokubu Line. That explains why it has such a unique, indescribable atmosphere that sets it apart from other unmanned stations. The flowering peach trees are, of course, wonderful, but even without them, the station itself is quite charming and a very nice place.

I came here expecting a melancholic, former terminal station, but by chance, it was the peak blooming season for peach blossoms (?), and it was bustling with flower viewers. I wonder how many of these people are actually train users...

It's pronounced "Kadohara-eki". It's an unmanned station, but at least it has a station building, which is better than some other stations (lol). Since there are very few trains, not many people use it. There's a community center next door, but it was closed when I went on a Sunday. The toilets are located there, so be aware of that. Except for Ono Station and the final stop, Kuzuryu Station, the stations on the Etsumi-Hokubu Line are all very simple, so even having a vending machine next to the station is a rare find. During the season, it's beautiful with flowers in bloom, and I think it's a place with nice scenery.

Although it is an unmanned station, it is well maintained and has a parking lot and toilets. Next to the station building is a log cabin community center with a vending machine. What's even more amazing is the peach trees in full bloom right in front of the platform. This is also the access station to Mt. Arashima and Katsuhara Park (a campground).

Restroom Information - Goka Community Center next door (Only when open, Mon-Fri 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM) - Katsuhara Hanamomo Park, across the tracks (Closed in winter) The restrooms on the train are more reliable. Or Kuzuryu Station. The station waiting room is clean, though it can get chilly. There's also a box for submitting mountain climbing registrations (there's also one at the former ski resort).
