Yes, Kariya Highway Oasis is accessible from both the expressway and the city side. Local visitors and those not traveling on the Isewangan Expressway can enter the facility directly from Kariya city roads near Kariya Station without paying any tolls. Free parking is available for all visitors regardless of which side they enter from.
No, this is one of the unique features of Kariya Highway Oasis. Unlike traditional rest stops, you can access the entire facility including the connected Kariya City General Sports Park without exiting the expressway system or paying additional tolls. You can return to the highway after your visit and continue your journey.
While entry to Kariya Highway Oasis itself is free, the Ferris wheel requires a separate admission fee. The ride typically costs a few hundred yen per person, though prices may vary. Other facilities like restaurants, shops, and most park areas can be enjoyed without additional charges beyond any purchases you make.
Most visitors spend between one to two hours at the facility, which allows enough time to have a meal, browse the shops, ride the Ferris wheel, and take a walk through the park areas. However, you can make it a shorter 30-minute rest stop or extend your visit longer if you want to fully explore the sports park and recreational areas.
The complex features multiple restaurants and food courts offering a variety of dining choices. You'll find both local Aichi specialties and standard Japanese highway rest stop fare, including regional products and souvenirs in the shopping areas. The food courts provide quick meal options, while sit-down restaurants are available for those wanting a more relaxed dining experience.

Excellent place to rest and visit. The Ferris wheel there is so good. There are different packages too. Clean and huge wash rooms there. Plenty of different varieties of foods and beverages.
So many delicious food, have my favorite place, stopped there today 😁
Big restaurant area connected to Kariya PA offering multitude of food options that includes Pizza at Presto Salvatore Cuomo
One of the coolest highway rest stops in Japan. They have a full-sized Ferris wheel! The facilities are huge - it's practically a shopping mall. Located just outside of Nagoya, it's worth stopping here to refresh before heading into the maze of bridges and roads in the city.
Excellent rest area if you go to the right of the Ferris wheel. The left is a bit rundown. Right side is one of the nicer rest areas in Japan.
