Visited because they had a special exhibition of artwork buy Leiji Matsumoto. Great museum and not expensive. Also surrounded by lots of Manga shops with rummaging trays, cheep compared to main city shops. Highly recommend a visit
A fun and interesting place for manga lovers. Lots to see and read, with exhibits that showcase the history and culture of manga. A nice stop if you enjoy Japanese pop culture.
Took a nice quick visit of the manga museum. Their pride and joy is Leiji Matsumoto and the amazing contribution he has given the world.

The biggest time sink if you want to get out of this visit is reading the mangas in the library section. Most of it is in Japanese but you can also find some English translated volumes.
Amazing museum that shows the history of manga and how the process of manga creation works. At the end of the museum is the biggest library of manga I have ever seen, free for you to read since you already paid for admission! 🙂
Took a quick revisit of the manga museum (I visited on Tuesday before check the schedule. It’s closed on Tuesday). A temporary event (manga show from Kaoru Mori, A Bride’s Story) was held in 5F. Meanwhile in the 6F there was a permanent event and a place where you can read a numerous manga collections. The ticket ¥800, cash only. Some area aren’t allowed to took pictures.

The Kitakyushu Manga Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, closed on Mondays. General admission is 480 yen for adults, 240 yen for middle and high school students, and 120 yen for elementary students. Children under 6 enter free.
Take the JR Kagoshima Main Line to Kokura Station, then walk about 2 minutes to reach Kitakyushu Manga Museum. The museum is located in Aru Aru City on the 5th and 6th floors, making it easily accessible from Kokura Station's main exit.
